The latest diagnostic tools including ultrasound are available to correctly diagnose the cause of leg pain and swelling. At Santa Barbara Vein Center we will evaluate your needs in a comfortable and relaxing medical environment. All of our techniques to relieve the discomfort of troublesome veins are minimally invasive, allowing us to treat you during an office visit, often in less than an hour, and return you to full normal activity within a few days.

Several vein treatment options are available based on your symptoms and diagnosis. Dr. West will examine your problem area, perform diagnostic testing with painless ultrasound, and discuss an individualized treatment plan. For the treatment of large veins with leaking valves, we use the CoolTouch CTEV Laser. The CoolTouch Laser is safe, highly effective, and allows early return to activity with little discomfort. For medium sized varicose veins, sclerotherapy with foam may be suggested. And in many cases, the best results may be obtained with removal of these veins by microphlebectomy.

Our specially equipped treatment rooms allow you to watch your procedure on a flat screen monitor, or if you prefer, be mildly sedated while treatment is performed under local anesthesia. Treatment is carried out using full sterile precautions, much as you would find in a hospital operating room. But you are home the same day and fully active in just a few days.
